ONGC’s Tennis star Ankita Raina wins WTA title, clinches Phillip Island Trophy doubles
ONGCian Ankita Raina won the WTA title as she and her Russian partner Kamilla Rakhimova clinched the doubles event in the Phillip Island Trophy in Melbourne.
The Ankita-Kamilla pair beat Russia's Anna Blinkova and Anastasia Potapova 2-6 6-4 10-7 in the final. The win will propel the 28-year-old Ankita to top-100 in the WTA rankings in doubles.

This is her biggest win so far and will catapult her rankings into the top-100 of the WTA International rankings; only third Indian women to do so.
Ankita had won ITF doubles title and WTA 125k series title before this win. Ankita Raina has been consistently performing well in the National and International circuit, bringing laurels to the Energy Maharatna.

Earlier in December 2020, the ace tennis star clinched the doubles title of ITF $1,00,000 +H Women’s at 23rd Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge in Dubai (UAE), with her partner Ekaterine Gorgodze. The duo lifted the title, defeating Kaja Juvan of Slovenia and Bolsova Zadoinov of Spain, at the finals of the tournament.
