ONGC bags prestigious Golden Peacock National Quality Award – 2020

The “Golden Peacock National Quality Award” for the year 2020 has been conferred to ONGC in recognition of its robust Quality Management Systems. The Golden Peacock National Quality Award is an annual award administered by the Golden Peacock Award Secretariat, as a part of the activities of “The Institute of Directors, New Delhi”.
The Golden Peacock Award is recognized as the hallmark of Corporate Excellence worldwide, because of its independence, integrity and transparency. This also encourages organizations to improve their performance, and in turn, get due recognition at a global level.
Golden Peacock National Quality Award-2020: Trophy and Certificate
The award selection criteria were too rigorous and stringent, which included systematic and scientific assessment in three stages. The distinguished jury, under the chairmanship of Justice M N Venkatachaliah – former Chief Justice of India and former Chairman, National Human Rights Commission of India – adjudged ONGCs Quality Assurance Department as the winner for this years’ award.
Director (T&FS) Mr O P Singh, whole heartedly appreciated the entire Team of Technical Services, and especially the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) for bagging this coveted award.
The Quality Assurance Department (QAD) of ONGC has been consistently upholding and improving the Quality Management Processes of ONGC. The QAD had bagged this prestigious award in 2011 and 2012 also, apart from bagging the “DL Shah Quality Award” conferred by the Quality Council of India in year 2013.

The Quality Assurance Department is committed to provide cost effective QA services, Inspection and Testing of Equipment, Stores, Spares and Projects.
With Total Quality Management under constant focus through its six QA divisions and nine QA locations spread across the country, the QAD is also accredited with ISO 9001:2015 certification for Quality Management System. The department is actively involved in value-added quality solutions including standardization of specifications, vendor development, factory inspection, failure analysis and case studies.
The virtual ceremony was witnessed by eminent dignitaries and more than 1200 guests across different industries, including ONGC.
