ONGC’s Apurvi Chandela wins first medal for India in 10m Air Rifle at Asian Games 2018
ONGC employee Apurvi Chandela has won bronze for India in 10 meters Air Rifle Mixed Team in the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta. This is the first medal for India in its campaign in the ongoing Asiad.
Congratulating Apurvi, ONGC CMD Shri Shashi Shanker said each medal is precious to show case India’s talent in the global arena. “Apurvi has made us immensely proud. I am sure, her success will further strengthen winning spirit of all members in the Indian Contingent” he added.
The 25 year old shooter Apurvi Chandela joined ONGC in May 2018. Ranked number one in India, she had won Gold in Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 in the same event. She received Arjuna Award in the same year.
Apurvi Chandela represented India in Rio Olympics in 2016 also. The ONGCian secured bronze for the country in 2018 Commonwealth Games.
