Lifetime Achievement Awards decorate the valedictory function of Petrotech 2019

At the valedictory function of Petrotech 2019, Hon’ble Governor, UP Mr. Ram Naik gave away the lifetime achievement awards to the recognized delegates of the oil and gas industry for their dedicated contributions to the industry. Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and Chairman of Steering Committee, Petrotech 2019 & ONGC CMD Mr. Shashi Shanker graced the stage with the Hon’ble Governor.
The awards were given away in three different categories, namely, The Lifetime Achievement Award in Upstream category, The Lifetime Achievement Award in Upstream category and the Special Jury Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Lifetime Achievement Award in Upstream category was conferred to Former Director(Drilling),ONGC Ltd. Mr. S. M. Malhotra for his remarkable contribution of 59 years to the upstream Oil and Gas Industry in India and his zeal to contribute to the industry even at the age of 78 years. His contributions in transformation of ONGC from a nascent organization to India’s flagship Oil and Gas Company have been very important, notably in drilling of ONGC’S first o-shore well in Aliabet in 1969.
The Lifetime Achievement Award for Downstream category was given to Former Director(Refineries and Pipelines),IOC Ltd Mr. Arjun Kumar Arora for his role in Refineries and Pipelines during the critical period of de-licensing of the refining sector, as well as the dismantling of Administered Pricing Mechanism of the Indian Oil and Gas sector, particularly during his tenure as Director( Refineries and pipelines),IOCL from 1995 to 2003.
The Special Jury Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Former MD, ONGC Videsh Ltd. Mr. Atul Chandra for an outstanding professional record of 48 years in the E&P industry of India especially for his role in finding and developing hydrocarbon assets overseas, for India as Managing Director of ONGC Videsh from 1994 to 2004. He was recognized for his pioneer work done in the international coil and gas E&P business in India by turning around ONGC Videsh using innovative strategy and the significant part played by him in adding close to 1.5 lakh bopd from overseas assets.
