ONGC को जैव विविधता संरक्षण के लिए ग्रीन रिबन चैंपियंस अवार्ड मिला

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on 25 March 2023 received the Green Ribbon Champions Award for biodiversity conservation by CNBC, Network18 Group, in recognition of its commitment to sustainability and consistent efforts in protecting biodiversity surrounding its operational areas.

The award was received by ONGC Executive Director-Chief CSR Ashutosh Prasad Singh during an event, titled ‘Green Ribbon Champions’, conducted by the Network18 Group at Hyatt Regency, Delhi, on Saturday evening. Secretary to the Ministry Of Consumer Affairs, Food And Public Distribution, Government of India, Rohit Kumar Singh, who presented the award, congratulated the entire ONGC Team on the occasion for its green and sustainable initiatives.

Green Ribbon Champions is an initiative to felicitate the prominent players across industries who have made significant contributions through their efforts to support the cause of a green planet. These efforts include initiatives and projects across sustainability, afforestation, biodiversity, waste management, renewable energy and more. The initiative intends to focus on the need for businesses to incorporate sustainability and commitment to a clean and green environment.

ONGC continues to go beyond the regulatory compliance requirements when it comes to caring for biodiversity conservation, especially surrounding its operational areas. The Energy Maharatna has also taken numerous projects related to biodiversity conservation in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya under its CSR initiative.

ONGC’s projects such as the translocation of eastern Swamp Deer from Kaziranga National Park to Manas National Park in Assam, the conservation and preservation of Amur Falcon in Karbianglong in Assam, the conservation of White Winged Wood Duck in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, as well as the preservation of endangered Western Hoolock Gibbon in Khasi Hills of Meghalaya and others, are noteworthy.
