ONGC rushes financial aid of Rs. 1 Crore for Assam flood relief

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) has contributed a financial support of Rs. 1 crore to Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The cheque for this was handed over to Assam Chief Minister Shri Tarun Gogoi at Guwahati on 5th September 2008. The amount will come in handy to the state authorities undertaking relief work in the flood-affected areas of Assam.

India and Colombia sign agreement for cooperation in the Energy Sector

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas of India has expanded its global reach to augment energy security of the country by entering a mile stone agreement in energy sector with Colombia. Today a Memorandum of Understanding in hydrocarbon sector between India and Colombia was signed in New Delhi. Hon’ble Shri Murli Deora, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India and H.E. Mr. Hernan Martinez Torres, the visiting Minister of Energy & Mines, Government of Colombia inked the agreement. This umbrella agreement in hydrocarbon sector aims to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and to realize the mutual benefits of cooperation.

ONGC Tripura Power Company places Rs. 2200 crore generation contract on BHEL

ONGC Tripura Power Co. Pvt. Ltd. (OTPC) has signed a contract with M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for setting up 726.6 MW capacity combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) based power project in Palatana in Tripura. The contract value is around Rs. 2,200 crore.

 
MRPL declares 12% dividend. Shareholders approve FY 2008 accounts

The Shareholders of MRPL in its 20th AGM held today at Mangalore approved the Accounts for the year ended 31st March, 2008, with a dividend of 12% vis a vis last year’s 8% and confirmed a dividend of 0.01% on Preference Shares for the financial year ended 31/03/08. The 12% dividend will absorb Rs. 246 Crore including Rs.36 Crore as tax. The Shareholders also approved fixation of remuneration of Statutory Auditors and Appointment/ Re-appointment of Shri N.K. Mitra, Shri V. P. Singh and Shri Vivek Kumar as Director
