Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) has contributed a financial support of Rs. 1 crore to Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The cheque for this was handed over to Assam Chief Minister Shri Tarun Gogoi at Guwahati on 5th September 2008. The amount will come in handy to the state authorities undertaking relief work in the flood-affected areas of Assam.

Oil major ONGC’s maiden renewable venture got underway near Bhuj on 6th September 2008, when its wind farm was inaugurated by the Navratna company’s Chairman & Managing Director Mr. R.S.Sharma.

ONGC’s contractual rig ‘Pride Pennsylvania’, while carrying out drilling operations at Mumbai High South field (Well # 15 of WB platform) of ONGC, encountered a mechanical malfunctioning, causing fire at 1350 hours today.

Today a Memorandum of Understanding in hydrocarbon sector between India and Colombia was signed in New Delhi. Hon’ble Shri Murli Deora, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India and H.E. Mr. Hernan Martinez Torres, the visiting Minister of Energy & Mines, Government of Colombia inked the agreement. This umbrella agreement in hydrocarbon sector aims to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and to realize the mutual benefits of cooperation.

MRPL pays Rs. 35.66 crore dividend to HPCL for 2007- 08

ONGC Tripura Power Co. Pvt. Ltd. (OTPC) has signed a contract with M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for setting up 726.6 MW capacity combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) based power project in Palatana in Tripura. The contract value is around Rs. 2,200 crore.

Mangalore, 2nd August 2008. The Shareholders of MRPL in its 20th AGM held today at Mangalore approved the Accounts for the year ended 31st March, 2008, with a dividend of 12% vis a vis last year’s 8% and confirmed a dividend of 0.01% on Preference Shares for the financial year ended 31/03/08. The 12% dividend will absorb Rs. 246 Crore including Rs.36 Crore as tax. The Shareholders also approved fixation of remuneration of Statutory Auditors and Appointment/ Re-appointment of Shri N.K. ONGC Tripura Power Co. Pvt. Ltd. (OTPC) has issued a Notice of Award to BHEL on 23rd June 2008 for setting up 726.6 MW capacity combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) based power project in Palatana. (MRPL) has been considering ways and means to establish a Greenfield refinery in the SEZ at Kakinada. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) has entered into a contract with Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) to hire the latter’s Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility on Arabian Sea off Hazira coast in Gujarat.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) will supply 0.5 million cubic metres per day of Gas for a period of 15 years to the gas-based power station of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO) coming up at Monarchak at Tripura.
