Mangalore, 6th October 2009. Post the call for help to Corporates and people of Dakshin Kannada made by District Administration Mangalore yesterday evening, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a mini ratna ONGC group company based in Dakshin Kannada, stepped up with Rupees fifty lakh for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (calamities), GoK. This amount is besides the one-day salary being voluntarily donated by the 1400 strong employees of MRPL and the consignments of clothes and materials Team MRPL has collected for their suffering brethren.

The cheque for Rs50,00,000/- was handed over by Mr. P P Upadhya, Group General Manager in charge of Refinery, Mr. P Ravindran Group General Manager Finance and Smt Manjusha Bhatnagar, GM (HR) to Mr. Ponnuraj IAS, Deputy Commissioner Mangalore at his office.
