Smt. Anita Das is nominated by the Government to the ONGC Board on 5th August 2009.

A veteran administrator and a 1972 batch IAS (Madhya Pradesh Cadre), Smt. Das retired as Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH (August, 2006 to October, 2008).

She has vast experience in the field of industrial promotion as Additional Director and Deputy Secretary Industry and later as Principal Secretary Rural Industry at the State level. She has also wide ranging experience in the area of Finance, budgeting and Institutional Finance both at the State and central level including three years of experience as Joint Secretary Finance and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Rural Development.

With the nomination of Smt. Anita Das, the ONGC Board has got 13 members; comprising of 7 Functional Directors (including the Chairman & Managing Director) and 6 Non-executive Directors (consisting of 2 part-time official nominee Directors and 4 part-time non-official Directors – nominated by Government of India). Besides, Managing Director, ONGC Videsh Limited is an invitee to the meetings of the Board.
