| Introduction |
Geodata Processing and Interpretation Centre was established in 1987 at ONGC, Dehradun with a specific mandate of providing solutions to complex E&P problems by integrating seismics with other geoscientific data.
The centre has world class state-of-the-art infra-structure backed by specialists in the field of seismic data processing, geoscientific data interpretation and supported by software programmers and hardware engineers.
|
 |
Land and marine seismic data of ONGC of Indian & Foreign basins is processed and interpreted synergistically at this centre. Over the years, GEOPIC has processed more than 52,32,502 LKM of seismic data including about 4550866 LKM of 3D data and 5,60,267 LKM data in depth domain & interpreted over 312 numbers of 3D prospects including deep waters.
Since inception, GEOPIC transformed itself into a Centre for Excellence and today is one of the premier institutes of ONGC.
The state-of-the-art technologies inducted & absorbed over the years such as depth domain processing, stratigraphic inversion, advanced volume based interpretation tools, stochastic lithofacies modeling using neural network, spectral decomposition, geostatistics, modeling, etc. has given GEOPIC, a capability to provide solutions to complex E&P problems using large 3D data volumes in regular processing & interpretation cycles.
