Well Control School is situated at Institute of Drilling Technology,
Dehradun, India.
The Institute
is relentlessly engaged in various R&D activities of oil well drilling.
Moreover, the Institute has been conducting well
control courses for over 20
years, using full size derrick floor simulator and a
fully operational drilling rig.
WCS was established at
IDT with
the aim to provide core
knowledge
and job
related skills for handling well control situations
with competency. The
school is
fully accredited by the IWCF
certification program, IADC
Well - CAP
program,
and the IAWC
joint program. |

WCS
has
a full size derrick floor drilling & work
over simulator. The
simulator has
the facilities to
simulate drilling and
work over well
control exercises
in straight,
directional & horizontal wells.
It
provides hands - on training on various aspects
of drilling with emphasis on well control
problems.
This state
of art
simulator can simulate many
down
hole
problems
in
surface
and sub-sea environment.
Trainees are exposed
to various operational failures
and their remedial measures. |
WCS
has a faculty consisting of eight full
time Instructors with engineering back
ground, to conduct these certification
courses. They all have field experience
of over 12 years on various onshore and offshore
rigs (including sub-sea). With
such qualified
and experienced instructors, WCS
keeps abreast with
the latest
advancements in oil field drilling and
well control technology.
The faculty not only deliberate
impeccable lecture room discussions on various
well control aspects but also provide
hands - on training
on the
simulator. |
